Small Business Rising Member Joins White House Meeting to Discuss Big Tech

Small Business Rising member Gina Schaefer, owner of A Few Cool Hardware Stores, joined a White House meeting yesterday to talk about the urgent need for Congress to rein in Big Tech. Schaefer said "Concentrated market power is the single biggest threat facing independent businesses."

The meeting focused on the challenges entrepreneurs, brick and mortar retailers, and other small businesses face competing in sectors that are dominated by monopolies. Participants described a wide range of day-to-day challenges where they were inhibited from bringing innovations to the market because they were at the mercy of monopolistic entities.

The White House Officials closed the meeting ensuring that they would take steps to make the market more competitive and continue to listen and engage with companies to promote a dynamic, innovative, and competitive market.
